Our Youth Programming

Open Shop

Drop-in model were youth members can learn bike mechanic skills and how to contribute to a positive community while earning  BYKE credit. These credits can be used to 'purchase' a bike and/or bike parts.

Golden Fleet Internship

Year-Round Internship for older youth members to improve employment readiness, enhance mechanic skills, grow confidence in mentorship and develop entrepreneurial skills through training and practice.

Girlz Shop

Girlz Shop is similar to our our shop model. Our priority is to encourage female engagement in the bike mechanic field. We are providing the space and energy for our female youth members enjoy bike life.

Rise Up Ride Out (RURO)

Our summer enrichment program in collaboration with Mission Fit and Corner Team Boxing. RURO  uses physical movement and recreation to teach self-regulation and instill transferable life skills to Baltimore City youth.

Are You Smarter Than Jasper?

To respect social-distancing protocols, we have launched an academic-based Instagram series, Are You Smarter Than Jasper. Youth members can earn credits to 'purchase' a bike.

Group Rides

Youth plan group rides around the city, providing an opportunity to practice safe ridership in traffic and get to know new areas in Baltimore.

BYKE Collective abides by a set of values that is observed and practiced by youth members, staff and volunteers. These values are how we create a safe space and promotes positive community support. G.R.I.P. S. is an acronym that stands for Grit, Respect, Integrity, Peacemaker and Scholarship.
